Most of the drugs candidates and gene therapies are failing in clinical trials due to lack of physiologically relevant preclinical models. Currently the organoid models are close resemblance with native tissues in terms of different types of cell types and ECM components etc. Because of their complexity the focus has been raising on these 3D models.  My research focuses on, organoids, and spheroids including genome engineering methods for regenerative medicine, disease modeling and drug testing applications.
